Happy Summer!

We teachers love summer as much as you do! But, did you know that students can lose up to two months of their reading progress during the summer? Over the years, this “summer slide” can accumulate; by middle school students who don’t read can be years behind those that do.  Our goal is for you to return in August just as strong a reader, or stronger! Luckily, summer reading can be fun!

We are participating in the Scholastic Summer Reading Program! It runs from May 4th through September 4th. Just log in with the code your teacher gave you. (If you didn’t get a code, that’s ok!  Join the program and choose Trinity Oaks as your school.)

Then, log how many minutes you read each week. There are prizes to unlock along the way, and resources galore!

And remember, the Media Center is open… so stop on by and grab some great books to read!
